So here are some of the photos I captured on our South African safari at the Sanbona Wildlife Refuge, about a 3 hour drive east of Cape Town. We spent three day there and a total of 5 excursions. These are some of my favorite captures. As this was our first safari I was really not prepared for how majestic these animals are and how close we could get to them.
I was prepared with a 300-700mm lens which also doubled as a telescope at night for astrophotography (that blog post is still a work in progress).
These are the photos that I felt most appropriate for this webpage. I captured some amazing pictures of a cheetah kill and the aftermath that might not be to everyone's enjoyment. That was probably the most incredible moment of the trip. Seeing a cheetah running full out to take down an antelope was absolutely breathtaking.
